James is a London-based Drummer, Musical Director, and Producer with over 14 years of experience in the music industry. His session work includes collaborations with artists such as Raye, Dan Whitlam, Mae Muller, Piri & Tommy, Kwaku Asante, Sophie Faith, Ten Tonnes, Jamie Hannah, Talia Rae, Ellysse Mason, and many others.
His career has taken him across the globe and to some of the world’s most iconic venues, including multiple O2 Venues, Ronnie Scott’s, The Roundhouse, KOKO, Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Abbey Road Studios, and the Montreux Jazz Festival. He has also performed in support of legendary acts such as Blondie, Bruce Springsteen, Kings of Leon, Ella Eyre, and Corinne Bailey Rae.
In addition to being a highly sought-after session drummer, James leads his own band, Queenstown Collective, which began releasing original music this year. Featuring a stellar lineup of musicians, the project has quickly gained momentum, selling out shows at venues like Pizza Express Live and Ronnie Scott’s, and receiving radio support from Jazz FM, BBC Radio 3, and Soho Radio.
Outside of live performance, James is active in the studio both as a producer and session musician. He has worked alongside acclaimed producers including Mike Spencer, Charlie Andrews, and Ed Graves. He also runs a personal studio space in Bermondsey, where he offers remote drum recording and production services.
